EP34 - Timothy Peterson Comparing Bear Markets, Recession Data, and Bretton Woods 2.0 with Bitcoin

In this episode of Navigating Bitcoin’s Noise, I am joined again by Timothy Peterson from Cane Island Research. Tim and I discuss a few of his recent charts.

One compares past Bear Markets to today’s market and another looks into the Leading Economic Index, the LEI. Tim shares how he looks at the LEI and what it signals about recession probabilities. Additionally, we discuss the potential for Bretton Woods 2.0 with Bitcoin acting as a form of reserve for smaller nations and we unpack why a Fed pivot may not be the best thing for markets. High rates for longer may be uncomfortable, but history tells us that lowering rates is likely not the best solution for this Fed conundrum.

If you’re looking to better understand bitcoin’s past and its future potential as an economic network, then join us and listen in.
